Carnosine Powder | Anti-Glycation & Antioxidant Active
Product Information
YaoSynBio Carnosine (L-Carnosine) is a naturally occurring dipeptide formed from beta-alanine and L-histidine, found endogenously in muscle and brain tissue. Supplied as a white crystalline powder with a purity of at least 99% and the molecular formula C9H14N4O3, it is a well-researched longevity molecule translated into skincare for its broad protective activity. Its combination of antioxidant, anti-glycation, and photoprotective properties makes it a versatile defensive active for modern anti-pollution and anti-aging formulations.
Mechanism
Carnosine exerts multi-pathway protection. As a potent free-radical scavenger, it neutralizes reactive oxygen species and reduces oxidative stress in the skin. It is a recognized inhibitor of protein glycation — the reaction between sugars and proteins (notably collagen) that generates advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) responsible for yellowing, stiffness, and wrinkling. Carnosine also helps inhibit telomere shortening, supporting cellular longevity, and provides protection against UV-induced damage, reducing the photo-aging burden from sun exposure.
Applications
Recommended at 0.1%–2%, Carnosine is well suited to anti-glycation and anti-yellowing serums, antioxidant day creams, UV and photo-aging protection products, and urban anti-pollution skincare. It is compliant with EU Regulation EC 1223/2009 and listed in CosIng, holds FDA GRAS status in the US with compliant cosmetic use. Store sealed in a dry, cool place.
